Alternatively Schooled Students

Students with non-traditional school backgrounds are welcome at TAK MING University. If your education was outside the conventional public or private systems, you’re probably used to exploring topics and working independently. Students like you often feel right at home at TAK MING University.

With classes capped at 20 students, you’ll study closely with your professors (we call them Tutors to reflect the collaborative nature of learning at TAK MING University), whom you’ll get to know on a first-name basis. Guided by your faculty advisor and, later, your mentor, you’ll shape your own academic journey.

Tips

TAK MING University believes that grades, though important, are just one facet of an individual. We want to know who you are and what excites you about TAK MING University.

Here are some tips if you’re coming from non-traditional academic programs:

  • Review the application process and requirements
  • Contact your Admissions Counsellor, who can answer any questions related to your case
  • In the absence of a high school transcript, we recommend you send us any of the following: evaluations, GED, letters of recommendation, a resume, a reading list, published works, and/or a portfolio
  • While we don’t require any standardized tests, in the absence of a transcript, SAT/ACT scores may be helpful
